I grew up in our community taking advantage of all Arvada has to offer, including The North Jeffco Swim Team, Arvada Midget Football, North Jeffco youth soccer, and Arvada Parks. I attended Sierra Elementary, Oberon Jr. High, and graduated from Pomona Sr. High school. After High school, while attending the University of Colorado, I had the opportunity to purchase the small ski shop that I was working at. I bought Larson’s Ski and Sport on Kipling Street in Wheat Ridge in 1984 at 21 years old. This has led me to a lifetime of entrepreneurship. I still own and operate Larson’s Ski and Sport today and look forward to continuing to provide recreational equipment to our community for years to come.
I am a father to two amazing children, Jack who will be a Junior at Arvada West High School, and Sarah who will be a Freshman at Arvada West High School.
In my free time I am an avid Skier, Snowboarder, Cyclist, Windsurfer, Dirt Biker, Home Remodeler, Auto Mechanic, Road Tripper, and Fitness enthusiast.
I have been engaged in our community for years, volunteering for service as the Congressional District 7 representative to the Colorado State Trail Committee, serving as the Chairman of the Wheat Ridge Business District, a member of the Wheat Ridge Building Code Advisory Task Force, the Arvada International Property Maintenance Code Task Force, served as the chairman of the Arvada Board of Adjustment, and was a member of the board of directors of the Clear Creek Valley Sanitation District.
In 2013, I was elected to the Arvada City Council to represent Arvada City Council district three. I was re-elected in 2017, and would love to serve another term. During my time on the Arvada City Council, I have served on numerous boards and committees including: The Apex Parks and Recreation District coordinating committee, the Jeffco Schools coordinating committee, the Arvada Charter Review committee, Olde Town Business Improvement District Board of Directors, the Arvada Economic Development Association Board of Directors, the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport Noise Roundtable Board, the Mile High Flood District Board of Directors, the Arvada Citizens Bond Review Committee, and many others.
