About John Marriott

I grew up in our community, attended Sierra Elementary, Oberon Junior High and graduated from Pomona Senior High school.

While attending the University of Colorado, I purchased Larson’s Ski and Sport, the local ski shop where I worked, leading me to a lifetime of entrepreneurship and job creation. I still own Larson’s Ski and Sport, serving our wonderful customers and providing countless jobs in our community.

I am a father to two amazing children—Jack, a recent graduate of Arvada West High School and Sarah, a junior at Arvada West. 

I have had the honor of serving Arvada on City Council since 2013 and represented our city with the rec district, Jeffco schools and other key community organizations.

I have been a volunteer in our community in roles ranging from coaching youth sports to serving on numerous boards and commissions dedicated to the economic vitality, health and safety of Arvada.

I have been engaged in our community for years, volunteering for service as the Congressional District 7 representative to the Colorado State Trail Committee, serving as the Chairman of the Wheat Ridge Business District, a member of the Wheat Ridge Building Code Advisory Task Force, the Arvada International Property Maintenance Code Task Force, served as the chairman of the Arvada Board of Adjustment, and was a member of the board of directors of the Clear Creek Valley Sanitation District. 

In 2013, I was elected to the Arvada City Council to represent Arvada City Council district three. I was re-elected in 2017, and would love to serve another term. During my time on the Arvada City Council, I have served on numerous boards and committees including: The Apex Parks and Recreation District coordinating committee, the Jeffco Schools coordinating committee, the Arvada Charter Review committee, Olde Town Business Improvement District Board of Directors, the Arvada Economic Development Association Board of Directors, the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport Noise Roundtable Board, the Mile High Flood District Board of Directors, the Arvada Citizens Bond Review Committee, and many others.
